On the 2nd of July
2004, the Israeli Forces moved SAMIR Al-KANTAR, the longest-held
Lebanese detainee in the Israeli prisons,
from Nafha prison and isolated him in a single detention section in Hadareem Prison trying
to isolate many detainees and in order
to destroy the opened strike
of the Palestinian and Arab detainees in the Israeli Prisons
breaking the silence prevailing over their
suffer and protesting
against their bad health and social situations as well as against the continuous detention
violating all International
Human Rights Laws.
Isolating Samir Al-kantar as well as investigating with him and
torturing him after 26 years of detention severely violates
the
international conventions.
Samir Al-Kantar was supposed to
be free after the 3 months that preceded the exchange operation
supported by Germany
on January 2004,
Samir Al-Kantar has been detained Nafha prison since 26 years
applying a weird sentence of 5 life imprisonment plus 42
years to
come up with the total of 542 years.
Samir Al-Kantar is being isolated today from the world and from his
friends as a try to break down his high
revolutionary spirit
and to paralyze the solidarity struggle of the
detainees,
Samir Al-Kantar whose family is waiting for years for his freedom,
Samir Al-Kantar is protesting today with 8,000 Palestinian
and Arab detainees against the Israeli detention and against both,
the Arab and the World silence.
Samir Al-Kantar, Marwan Al-Barghouthy, Abdel Rahim Al-Molawwah,
Saeed Al-Otaiba, and Shekh Hassan Youssouf as well
as thousands of
Arab and Palestinian Detainees will raise the voice of freedom on
the 15th of August announcing the “Fasting of Death”
for the sake of dignity and the right to live.
8,000
Palestinian and Arab detainees will announce on the 15th
of August the trial of Israel condemning all the silent governments
on
their torture and detention.
8,000
Palestinian and Arab detainees are calling
all the World-Wide Human Right Organizations to mount all efforts
and to raise their
voices high for the freedom of the detainees and
for preserving justice and human rights.
In solidarity with the
detainee’s opened strike, The Follow-up Committee for the Support
of Lebanese Detainees in Israeli Prisons
launches the campaign of
“Save Samir AL-Kantar” and we announce the following:
